Terms and Conditions
1. DEFINITIONS
- The Company: GHE ELECTRICAL, FIRE AND SECURITY LTD, registered at SUITE 1A, KIRKLESS INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, CALE LANE, ASPULL, WIGAN, WN21HF.
- 1.1 The Client: : The individual, business, or organization engaging the Company’s services.
- 1.2 Services: Electrical maintenance, repair, and installation works provided by the Company.
- 1.3 Subcontractors: Approved third-party professionals engaged by the Company to perform parts of the services.
2. SCOPE OF SERVICES
- 2.1 The Company provides electrical, fire, and security services, including maintenance, repairs, installations, and system upgrades for residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- 2.2 Services include but are not limited to:
- • Electrical maintenance, repairs, and installation
- • Fire alarm system installation, servicing, and compliance testing
- • Security system installation, including CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms
- • Emergency lighting installation and maintenance
- 2.3 All works are carried out in accordance with UK regulations, including but not limited to:
- • Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
- • BS 7671 IET - Wiring Regulations (Electrical Installations)
- • BS 5839-1 - Fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings
- • BS 5839-6 - Fire detection and fire alarm systems for domestic premises
- • BS 5266-1 - Emergency lighting
- • BS EN 50131 - Intruder and hold-up alarm systems
- • BS EN 62676 - Video surveillance systems (CCTV)
- • BS 8243 – Alarm verification for intruder and hold-up alarms
- 2.4 The Company is not responsible for delays or costs arising from factors outside its control, such as access restrictions, unforeseen site conditions, or regulatory changes.
3. ESTIMATES AND CHANGES
- 3.1 Estimates are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
- 3.2 All prices are based on the scope of work agreed upon. Any additional work or changes required due to unforeseen circumstances will incur extra costs, subject to Client approval.
- 3.3 The Company reserves the right to adjust prices if material or labour costs change significantly before work commences.
4. PAYMENTS
- 4.1 Payment terms:
- • 50% deposit for one off project costs, £2500 or over upon acceptance of the quote.
- • 25% deposit for one off project cost, £2500 or under upon acceptance of the quote.
- • Balance payment upon project completion.
- 4.2 For smaller jobs (e.g., repairs), payment is due upon receipt of the invoice unless agreed otherwise.
- 4.3 Late payments will incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily.
- 4.4 Ownership of all materials supplied by the Company remains with the Company until full payment is received.
5. SUBCONTRACTORS
- 5.1 The Company may employ qualified subcontractors for certain tasks.
- 5.2 The Company ensures all subcontractors meet relevant industry qualifications, safety standards, and are adequately insured.
6. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- 6.1 The Client must:
- • Provide safe and unhindered access to the site.
- • Supply accurate site information and disclose any known hazards
- • Obtain any necessary permissions (e.g., planning or landlord consent) prior to work commencing.
- 6.2 The Company is not liable for delays or additional costs caused by the Client’s failure to fulfil these responsibilities.
7. WORKMANSHIP AND GUARANTEES
- 7.1 All work is guaranteed for 12 months from the completion date.
- 7.2 This guarantee does not cover:
- • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or unauthorized alterations.
- • Materials provided by the Client.
- • Normal wear and tear.
8. CERTIFICATION
- 8.1 Electrical Certification to be sent within 10 working days of final payment being received.
9. LIABILITY
- 9.1 The Company holds public liability, employer’s liability and product indemnity insurance. Copies are available on request.
- 9.2 The Company is not liable for:
- • Delays or issues caused by circumstances beyond its control (e.g., adverse weather, supplier delays).
- • Indirect or consequential losses incurred by the Client.
- • Damage to existing systems or property unless caused by proven negligence.
10. CANCELLATIONS AND TERMINATION
- 10.1 The Client may cancel the contract in writing, but cancellation fees may apply to cover costs incurred up to that point.
- 10.2 The Company reserves the right to terminate the contract if:
- • Payment terms are breached.
- • The Client provides false or misleading information.
- • Site conditions are unsafe or unsuitable for work.
11. HEALTH AND SAFETY
- 11.1 The Company follows strict health and safety regulations to protect employees, subcontractors, and clients.
- 11.2 The Client is responsible for ensuring the site is safe and free of hazards before work commences.
12. COMPLAINTS
- 12.1 All complaints must be submitted in writing to, GHE ELECTRICAL, FIRE AND SECURITY LTD, SUITE 1A, KIRKLESS INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, CALE LANE, ASPULL, WIGAN, WN21HF, within 14 days of the issue.
- 12.2 The Company will respond promptly and work to resolve all complaints fairly and professionally.
13. GOVERNING LAW
- 13.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- 13.2 Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
